Multi Mineral Exploration

This project mainly aims for the exploration of various minerals like limestone, lignite, bauxite, and other minerals. The main programme is initially for exploratory work in different areas, for finding out the reserves, for the future exploration, through field checks and driiling. It is currently started in limestone part of Abdasa, Nakhatrana, Bhuj and Mandavi talukas. The proposal covers the area of 41E/2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 covering about 420 sq. km area involving 27000m drilling at 1*1 km grid interval. Geological maps of the toposheets 41I/1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 are under preparation and some are prepared also of 41M/2, 3, 6, 10 along with 46C/2, 3.

These are the following areas of which reports are under study- Baroda, Chota-udaipur, Panchmahals, Kaira, Amba-dungar, Khadia, Rajkot, Merwadar, lodhika, Junagadh, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Haripur-Hiranwet, sangodra, Junagadh, Banaskantha, Kutch, Bhavnagar, Surat, Bharuch, Dahod etc. Setting up of Geo data centre and procurement of imagery for planning of exploration programmes are under progress for this purpose.

GSI report study work is under progress and approximately 200 reports are studied till now and the work is under progress for the procurement of maps and mineral locations for exploratory purposes.

Many Fellow Geologists are deployed in the field for the exploration work of these multi-minerals which are carried out with the help of DRM maps and satellite data on small scale, for betterment of work and speediness.

Total scope of work for the initial year will be about 50,000 meters, which may be extended.

There are many areas of interests which are under drilling like Bhuj, Anjar, Fatehgarh, Surendranagar, dhrangadhra.

Currently, Vinayak Engineering, Khanna Associates, and CGM are the main drillers which are doing exploratory work in Mamuara and Fatehgarh areas.

The quantum of work shall be 20,000m of drilling for multi-mineral core drilling in kachchh district, Gujarat and additional work of 30,000m may be awarded on the basis of work performance and these will solely be commanded by GMRDS.

Maximum limit of boreholes depth is assigned to be 300m. As to date, 3000m is completed by Vinayak engg, Khanna associates have completed approximately 1200m and CGM has drilled almost 500m near Fatehgarh area. The process is still under progress.
